ROCKET WHEELS - Rockabilly Band

Hi Gals and Cats, this is our band the ROCKET WHEELS !!!

We love to play songs we wrote and songs we like, no matter how old or new they are !!! We love the music and it's energy, and the sound of the early rockabilly and rock'n'roll bands!

We proudly present our new album "Rocket Wheels" on K-tel International

(LC 1943) CD: RW 993912.

You can order the album at your local store or here on our Homepage!

The 14 new recorded songs are how the band sounds LIVE. The recordingsession was straight into the machine and has capured our performance in a very true and fantastic way! We are happy to hear our instruments like on a live show, so proud of this record and it's songs, just sounding like you're standing in the front row on a Rocket Wheels concert!

Also we are so exited that JON OTIS has contributed the lead vocals on his fathers song "The Night Is Young (And You're So Fine)" and we were able to shoot a VIDEO with our star ZOE SCARLET for "White Wedding". This shows our range in the music we love to play that has no bounderies to time and style, though it always sounds like us. We are very thankful that LUC MONTINI has engeniered us this honest and true sounding way wich represent us as a hundred procent live band that is full of energy and passion in its music and style.

Please feel free to check out our Facebook and MySpace sites, as well as the link to the "White Wedding" Video on YouTube on this page above!

We do appreciate your support in every way. And please don't hasitate to contact us for any matter!

SO HERE ARE SOME COMMENTS ABOUT THE NEW RECORD:

"1. Make That Mercury Fly"

Well some of you may know that feeling when you try to fix your ride and it just can't be done! There are parts missing, the i-beam has a twist and you just can't get it on the street. We that's what happened with my 46 Mercury!

"2. Rocket To The Moon"

Was inspired by the annual celebration of our astronauts back in time. And I just can't hide my wish to get a rocket as my ride!

"3. Safronia B."

One of my very favourite swing tunes ever! I love to hear that Maccaferri guitar pumping in the background and I dig the bridge of this song too. Cool that we could capture the right mood and groove to this tune!

"4. White Wedding"

As a kid of the '80 there simply was no way around Steve Stevens for me as a guitarist! So I had this vision about White Wedding and the story to the video with Zoe Scarlett. I'm simply filled with joy and proud about this songs project and can't stress enough my deep appreciation to all of them that made it come true!

"5. Neutron Dance"

This is how the Rocket Wheels sounds disco! I love the way Stephan plays that straight bassline on his upright bass. It gets things pumping, if you know what I mean ;-) On a good night we make the last drunk shake in the crowed!

"6. The Night Is Young (And You're So Fine)"

Features Jon Otis on lead vocals! It was in the early '90 when I could join Jon's band for a little while. So the fact that we recorded a song of Jon's father Johnny Otis made this move quite obvious! I'm very happy Jon could arrange recording the lead vocals for us, it gives this record such a great new dimension and brings the band on a whole new level. Thanks Jon!

"7. Come Along With Me"

I wrote this song last summer after a quick east europe tour. Funny how life goes, you never know what to expect but you gotta take chances it they come up. So this song sais all about it. Check it out.

"8. I Saw Her Standing There"

Well folks, this one started it all! I was 11 years old and someone showed me 3 chords on a old rusty strung guitar out in the mountains. Having got a Beatles record for my birthday, obviously that was my first choice. So I started pounding them chords on that thing. But it took me some time to figure out that inversion and the C7 chord in the bridge. Well here we go, what I still consider one of the best rock'n'roll songs ever!

"9. Let's Shout (Work It Out)

Just gives us that perfect variation on a live gig. You really feel how the attention of the crowd get back on the band when we play this song. So having recorded this album in a live situation it had to be done, and yes very truely it breaks up the rhythm on the record just perfectly.

"10. I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine"

What I consider being the perfect Elvis song! This is first take folks, just nailed it down on a warm up as we got started. Thanks to Luc we got it recorded, he had the machine running. Good boy!

"11. Crybaby"

This is just the perfect song telling you what can happen if you date the wrong girl!

Beautifully melting the lyrics into the music. When you get the right drive going, you become one with this song.

"12. 49 Mercury Blues"

Well here we go again, saturday night, got your girl by your side and your ride just breaks down on the side of the road. Well those of you may know what I'm talking about! So after that friday night the band had to pickup this song, just to make sure I'll never forget......

"13. TexarKana To Panama City"

One of the greatest songs being released in the past few years from Lee Rocker. We love that wide, endless horizon feeling this songs gives us when we play it. Almost like opening the window on a sunset drive in the south states.

"14. Fanatico Di Rock'n'Roll"

When I went to school punk and new wave just got on the way to the top of the pops. So I went out on a secret mission and got a tape of the latest fashion. Since my family live in south europe it happened to be an italian artist that was my first choice. So here I picked a thing that works just great for the Rocket Wheels of that tape. Hey, what do you think? That italian jelling of mine was into a SM-58 with the playback on the stereo turned up to the max.

So these are some little stories about our new record "Rocket Wheels".

Thanks for taking the time!

Be well, Mitch
